Mac OS X Leopard: The Most Painful Upgrade

I thought I'd upgrade to Leopard. Silly me.

First, when I did the install the Setup Assistant hung. Then I ended up in a

cycle of infinite Setup Assistants.

Then, I still couldn't login. I had problems with Keychains.

Luckly, I have multiple accounts on my machine, and I was able to get my "admin" account working. Unfortunately, I still couldn't get my personal account working. Whenever, I'd login to my account, I'd see the dock, a blue background, and no desktop or Finder. Then, I learned I needed to rename my DivXNetworks.

This was ridiculous. Things seem to be working now, but I doubt everything is correct. For example, when I run System Preferences, I get to see the spinning beach ball. That just doesn't seem right. System Preferences just doesn't do a whole lot.

I'm thinking I'm going to need to backup the whole home directory and slag the machine. Ugh. That should never be a requirement for an OS upgrade...

Sigh.
